The classic case: a double-sided document scanned as two passes, so you have all the odd pages followed by all the even ones. Merging gets them into one file; only reordering makes it readable.

What Organise PDF Pages does

Rewrites a PDF with its pages in an order you specify, listing every page number in the sequence you want.

The order you type is exactly the order you get. You can also drop pages by leaving them out, and repeat a page by listing it twice — so this quietly covers deleting and duplicating as well.

How to write the order

FormatA comma-separated list of page numbers
Move a page to the front5,1,2,3,4
Reverse a 4-page file4,3,2,1
Interleave two scans1,5,2,6,3,7,4,8
Omit a pageLeave its number out
Repeat a pageList it twice
NumberingStarts at 1, matching your PDF reader

Detailed steps

  1. Drop the PDF in.
  2. Type the New page order as a comma-separated list.
  3. Check the count before running — the output has exactly as many pages as numbers you typed.
  4. Run it and download.

Worth knowing

For the odd-then-even scan, merge the two passes first so the odd pages are 1 to N and the evens follow, then interleave with 1, N+1, 2, N+2 and so on. Working it out on paper for the first four pages usually makes the pattern obvious for the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

My output has fewer pages than the original.

You left some numbers out. The output contains exactly the pages you listed, in that order — anything unlisted is dropped. Include every page you want to keep.

Can I repeat a page?

Yes. List it as many times as you want it to appear. That is also what the Duplicate PDF Pages tool does if you would rather not retype the whole sequence.

Is there a drag-and-drop version?

Not here — this is deliberately a typed list, which is faster and less error-prone for long documents than dragging thumbnails around.

Does reordering re-render the pages?

No. Pages are copied across intact rather than redrawn, so text stays selectable, links keep working, vector graphics stay sharp and the file size barely changes. Reordering is one of the few PDF operations that costs you nothing at all in quality.

Is Organise PDF Pages free?

Yes. The Vootkit free plan includes 5 tool runs a day. Upgrade to Vootkit Pro for unlimited daily use, an ad-free workspace and saved workflows.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Organise PDF Pages runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and never sent to a server. There is nothing for us to store or delete.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Organise PDF Pages works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. Open the page and start.

How often can I use it? Is there a daily limit?

On the free plan you get 5 tool runs a day. When you reach the limit you'll see a prompt to upgrade, and it resets the next day. Vootkit Pro removes the cap entirely for unlimited daily use.

This tool processes everything locally in your browser. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.
