Pulling a few pages out of a long PDF is one of those jobs that sounds trivial and turns into a fight with software that wants to re-print, re-render or watermark the result. This copies the pages you name into a new file and leaves everything else alone.

What Extract PDF Pages does

Takes a page range and produces a new PDF containing exactly those pages, in the order you list them.

Because pages are copied rather than re-rendered, text stays selectable, links keep working and vector graphics stay sharp. The original file is never modified.

Range syntax

Defaultall
A range2-5
Individual pages1,4,9
Mixed1-3,7,10-12
NumberingStarts at 1, matching your PDF reader
OrderPages appear in the order you list them
Original fileNever modified

Detailed steps

  1. Drop the PDF in.
  2. Type the pages you want in Pages to extract.
  3. Extract and download the new PDF.

Worth knowing

The order you type is the order you get, so this doubles as a quick reordering tool — entering 3,1,2 gives you those three pages in that sequence. Handy for putting a signature page first without opening an editor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between this and Split PDF?

Very little — both keep the pages you name. Extract is worded around pulling pages out of a long document, Split around cutting one down. Use whichever matches how you are thinking about it.

Can I extract pages into separate files?

One run produces one PDF containing everything you listed. If you need each page as its own file, run the tool once per page — entering 3, then 4, then 5 — which is quicker than it sounds because the original stays loaded between runs.

Do bookmarks and links survive?

Links within the pages you kept survive. Bookmarks pointing at pages you did not keep have nothing to point to and are dropped.

Which page numbers do I use?

The ones your PDF reader shows, starting at 1 — not the numbers printed on the page. A report whose first page is numbered “i” is still page 1 here.

Is Extract PDF Pages free?

Yes. The Vootkit free plan includes 5 tool runs a day. Upgrade to Vootkit Pro for unlimited daily use, an ad-free workspace and saved workflows.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Extract PDF Pages runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and never sent to a server. There is nothing for us to store or delete.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Extract PDF Pages works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. Open the page and start.

How often can I use it? Is there a daily limit?

On the free plan you get 5 tool runs a day. When you reach the limit you'll see a prompt to upgrade, and it resets the next day. Vootkit Pro removes the cap entirely for unlimited daily use.

This tool processes everything locally in your browser. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.
