- Lay the page flat in even light — daylight near a window is ideal, overhead light casts your own shadow.
- Shoot square on rather than at an angle, filling the frame with the page.

Worth knowing
Shadow is what makes a phone scan look like a phone scan. Do not lean over the page with a light behind you — your head becomes a grey band across the text. Sit to the side of the light, or lay the page near a window and shoot with the light coming across it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it straighten crooked photos?
No — there is no automatic edge detection or deskew here, so framing is up to you. Take a moment to line the page up square in the viewfinder; it is faster than fixing it afterwards.
Can I add pages from my gallery instead of the camera?
Yes. Photos you already took work exactly the same way, and you can mix them with fresh captures in one document.
Will the text be searchable?
No. The pages are photographs, so the PDF contains images rather than text. Run the result through PDF OCR if you need to search or copy from it.
The file is very large. Why?
Modern phone cameras produce big images, and several of them in one PDF adds up quickly. Run it through Compress PDF before emailing — documents shot for legibility compress well.
