What PDF Form Filler does

Worth knowing
If it reports no fillable fields, the form was almost certainly produced by printing or scanning a design rather than by exporting a real form. You are not doing anything wrong — there is nothing there to fill. Add your text as a signature-style overlay, or print and complete it by hand.

It says my PDF has no fillable fields.
Then it genuinely has none. Many forms that look interactive are flat documents with boxes drawn on them — common when a form was scanned, or exported from a design tool. Nothing here can create fields that were never made.
Can the values be changed after I download?
Yes. The fields stay editable, so anyone with a PDF reader can alter them. If the completed form must be fixed, flatten it in a full PDF editor or print it to PDF.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The PDF is read and written entirely in your browser, which matters given what forms usually contain — addresses, dates of birth, bank details.
What about older government forms that ask me to open them in Adobe Reader?
Those are usually XFA forms, a different and largely abandoned standard that this does not support. They generally need the desktop Adobe Reader they ask for.
