Worth knowing
Head size is what catches people out, and it is a proportion rather than a dimension. Most countries specify that the head must occupy a set fraction of the frame — commonly around 70–80% of the height from chin to crown. A correctly sized photo with the head too small or too low is still rejected, and this tool cannot see that.

Will a photo from this be accepted?
Only if it was already compliant in every other respect. This gets the dimensions right; officials also check head size and position, background, lighting, shadows, expression, eye visibility and whether glasses cause glare. Check your country’s published template.
Can I take the photo on a phone?
Many countries accept it if the result meets the rules. Use a plain light background, even lighting with no shadow behind you, hold the camera at eye level, and avoid a wide-angle selfie — phone front cameras distort facial proportions noticeably up close.
Why are US and Indian sizes the same?
Both use a 2×2 inch square, which is unusual — most countries use the rectangular 35×45 mm format. The shared size does not mean shared rules on head position, so check each separately.
What resolution is needed for printing?
The pixel dimensions here correspond to roughly 300 DPI at the stated print size, which is the normal requirement. Printing at a smaller size than intended is fine; enlarging is not.
