What EXIF Viewer & Stripper does
Reads the EXIF metadata embedded in a JPEG and shows you exactly what is in there — camera, lens settings, timestamps, orientation and, where present, location.
This is the check to run before publishing. It is read-only: it tells you what is in the file rather than changing it, so you can decide what to do with that knowledge.

Worth knowing
Most social platforms strip EXIF when you upload, but forums, direct file shares, cloud links and email attachments generally do not. The risk is not the photo you post to a big network — it is the one you attach to a message or upload to a small site.

Either the file is not a JPEG — PNG and WebP rarely carry EXIF — or the metadata has already been stripped, which many apps and platforms do automatically. No EXIF is a good outcome if you were about to publish it.
How do I remove the data?
Re-encode the image. Running it through the Image Compressor or Image Converter produces a file built from the decoded pixels, and the metadata does not come with it.
Does removing EXIF change how the photo looks?
Only in one respect worth knowing: the orientation flag goes too. A photo taken sideways may then display sideways in some readers, so check the result and rotate it if needed.
Is my photo uploaded to read the metadata?
No. The file is parsed in your browser — which matters more here than on most tools, since the whole point is inspecting data you may not want anyone else to have.
