Detailed steps

- Set Quality. 90% is the default; 80% is still invisible on most photographs and saves considerably more.

Worth knowing
If the savings come back small, resize first. Compression re-encodes the pixels you have; resizing removes pixels you never needed. On a folder of full-resolution phone photos, Bulk Resize followed by this will beat either one alone by a wide margin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Some files barely shrank.
Those were already compressed. Re-encoding an existing JPEG at a similar quality removes very little, because the data an encoder would drop has already gone.
Can I use different settings per image?
No — one quality across the batch is the point. For individual control, use the single Image Compressor.
Does this strip location data?
Yes, as a side effect. Outputs are re-encoded from the decoded image, so EXIF including GPS does not carry over. For photos you are publishing, that is a benefit.
Why only 20?
