Learn more about privacyMost study plans fail on the same day: the one where something overruns and the whole schedule collapses because it had no slack in it. A plan that survives contact with a real week is one that expected to be disrupted.
What Study Planner does
Organises subjects and sessions into a study schedule you can follow and adjust.
The design constraint is realism. A plan that assumes every day goes well is abandoned the first time one does not, and abandoned plans are worse than no plan because they cost you the confidence to make another.
How it works
| Organises | Subjects and study sessions |
|---|---|
| Session length | 45–90 minutes suits most people |
| Slack | Leave one empty slot a week — see the tip |
| Spacing | Beats cramming for retention |
| Runs | On your device |
| Uploaded anywhere | No |
| Pair with | Learning Tracker, to compare plan against reality |
| Review | Weekly, not daily |
Detailed steps
- List subjects with the time each genuinely needs, not equal time each.
- Block sessions of 45–90 minutes.
- Leave at least one slot empty every week.
- Review weekly and move things rather than abandoning the plan.
Worth knowing
Build in a catch-up slot every week and do not fill it. Something always overruns, and a plan with no slack turns one bad evening into a week of being behind — which is the point at which most people stop following the plan at all. The empty slot is what makes it survivable.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long should a study session be?
45 to 90 minutes. Shorter rarely gets past setting up; much longer and attention degrades to the point where you are re-reading rather than learning. Break between sessions rather than pushing through.
Should each subject get equal time?
No — weight by difficulty and by weight in the assessment. Equal time feels fair and is a poor use of a limited week; the subject you find hardest usually needs the most, and it is the one people avoid.
Cramming or spacing?
Spacing, decisively, for anything you need to retain past the exam. Cramming can pass a test tomorrow and is close to useless a month later — which matters when next year’s material builds on it.
What if I fall behind?
Use the catch-up slot, and if you are further behind than that, re-plan rather than abandon. A revised plan you follow beats an ideal one you have quietly stopped looking at.
Is Study Planner free?
Yes. The Vootkit free plan includes 5 tool runs a day. Upgrade to Vootkit Pro for unlimited daily use, an ad-free workspace and saved workflows.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Study Planner runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and never sent to a server. There is nothing for us to store or delete.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Study Planner works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. Open the page and start.
How often can I use it? Is there a daily limit?
On the free plan you get 5 tool runs a day. When you reach the limit you'll see a prompt to upgrade, and it resets the next day. Vootkit Pro removes the cap entirely for unlimited daily use.
