How to use Proposal Generator

02Let the browser do the work.
03Copy, download or continue.
04Your files stay private
Your work is processed locally in your browser where possible and is never added to a Vootkit upload library.
Learn more about privacyA proposal is not a longer quote. A quote answers "how much"; a proposal answers "why you, and what happens next" — and it is read by people who were not in the meeting where the work was discussed.
What Proposal Generator does
Fills a structured template — overview, scope, deliverables, timeline, pricing — into a clean formatted document, previewed live as you type and exported by printing to PDF or downloading HTML.
Bullet lists come from plain lines of text: type one item per line and they become a proper list, so you can write in a text box and get typography.
Structure and export
| Sections | Overview, scope, deliverables, timeline, pricing |
|---|---|
| Lists | One item per line becomes a bullet |
| Preview | Live, as you type |
| Export | Print → Save as PDF, or download HTML |
| Fonts | Your system’s — no web fonts to load |
| Storage | Nothing saved or uploaded |
| Editable later? | Keep the HTML download and reopen it |
| Privacy | Entirely on-device |
Detailed steps
- Write the overview last, even though it appears first — it is a summary and you cannot summarise what you have not written.
- List deliverables as things the client will receive, not activities you will perform.
- Add the timeline and pricing.
- Print to PDF and read it once as if you were the client.
Worth knowing
Deliverables should be nouns, not verbs. "Five product photographs, retouched, supplied as high-resolution JPEG" can be delivered and checked off. "Photography services" cannot, and a proposal full of verbs is a proposal that ends in an argument about whether the work is finished.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long should a proposal be?
As long as the decision requires and no longer. For a small engagement, one page that a decision-maker actually reads beats six that get skimmed. The overview should stand alone — assume some readers will read only that.
Should pricing go in the proposal?
Usually yes, since a proposal without a price generates one extra round of email before any decision. If the price depends on choices, present two or three defined options rather than a range.
Is this a contract?
No. A proposal describes intended work; a contract sets the terms that govern it — payment schedule, ownership, termination, liability. Use the Contract Generator for that, and have anything significant reviewed.
Can I edit it after downloading?
Yes — the HTML download opens in any browser and can be edited in a text editor. Keep it if you expect to produce similar proposals; it is faster to adapt than to start again.
Is Proposal Generator free?
Yes. The Vootkit free plan includes 5 tool runs a day. Upgrade to Vootkit Pro for unlimited daily use, an ad-free workspace and saved workflows.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Proposal Generator runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and never sent to a server. There is nothing for us to store or delete.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Proposal Generator works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. Open the page and start.
How often can I use it? Is there a daily limit?
On the free plan you get 5 tool runs a day. When you reach the limit you'll see a prompt to upgrade, and it resets the next day. Vootkit Pro removes the cap entirely for unlimited daily use.
