A practical example

For a speaker positioned near the edge of a wide frame, a central portrait crop may remove the speaker entirely. Watch representative moments with the subject on both sides before posting. If the crop fails, use an editor with manual positioning or tracking rather than stretching the frame.

Check the result

Check captions, slides and gestures near the edges. A crop can preserve proportions yet still discard the information that makes the clip useful.

Try a comparison

Compare the centre crop at the first, middle and final parts of a clip. A subject may begin centrally and later walk out of the crop. One acceptable poster frame does not verify that the entire portrait export preserves the action.
