No — only .docx. The older binary .doc format is a different thing entirely. Open it in Word or LibreOffice and save as .docx first.
Are my fonts preserved?
Standard fonts are substituted with close equivalents; unusual ones will not survive, because the converter has no access to fonts installed on your machine. Anything typographically precise should be exported from Word.
