Spreadsheets are built for editing, not for reading. Send one and the recipient sees your column widths, your frozen panes and whichever cell you happened to leave selected — and they can change the numbers. A PDF fixes the view and freezes the figures.

What Excel to PDF does

Reads .xlsx and .csv files with SheetJS and lays the sheet data out as a paginated PDF, breaking across pages where the content requires it.

It converts the data, not the workbook. Formulas arrive as their computed values, which is what a reader needs, and charts and conditional formatting do not come across at all.

Detailed steps

  1. Add the spreadsheet.
  2. Convert.
  3. Check the pagination — wide sheets are where this needs attention.

Worth knowing

Narrow the sheet before converting. A spreadsheet twenty columns wide has to break across pages, and a table split down the middle is nearly unreadable. Hide the columns your reader does not need, or split the sheet into two logical tables, and the PDF becomes something people can actually use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My charts are missing.

Charts are workbook objects rather than cell data, and are not converted. Export the chart as an image from your spreadsheet application and place it separately, or screenshot it and use JPG to PDF.

Do formulas come across?

Their results do, which is normally what you want in a document meant for reading. The formulas themselves are not shown.

What happens to a very wide sheet?

It is split across pages. That is often hard to read, so narrowing the sheet before converting produces a much better document.

Does it handle multiple sheets?

Sheet data is laid out into the document. For a workbook with many unrelated sheets, converting them separately usually gives a more readable result than one long file.

Is Excel to PDF free?

Yes. The Vootkit free plan includes 5 tool runs a day. Upgrade to Vootkit Pro for unlimited daily use, an ad-free workspace and saved workflows.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Excel to PDF runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and never sent to a server. There is nothing for us to store or delete.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Excel to PDF works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. Open the page and start.

How often can I use it? Is there a daily limit?

On the free plan you get 5 tool runs a day. When you reach the limit you'll see a prompt to upgrade, and it resets the next day. Vootkit Pro removes the cap entirely for unlimited daily use.

This tool processes everything locally in your browser. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.
