Learn more about privacyPicking a winner in front of an audience has one requirement above all others: it must be visibly fair. A name that appears without anyone seeing how invites exactly the accusation you were trying to avoid.
What Giveaway Picker does
Draws a random winner from a list of entrants, on screen, so the selection happens where everyone can see it.
Runs entirely in your browser — the entrant list is never uploaded, which matters when it is full of real names.
How it works
| Input | A list of entrants, one per line |
|---|---|
| Selection | Random draw |
| Runs | In your browser — nothing uploaded |
| Duplicates | Remove them first, or they get extra chances |
| Redraws | Say the rule beforehand, not afterwards |
| Record | Screen-record the draw if the prize is valuable |
| Privacy | The entrant list never leaves your device |
Detailed steps
- Paste the entrant list, one name per line.
- Remove duplicates unless multiple entries are intentional.
- State the rules on stream before drawing — including what happens if the winner does not respond.
- Draw on camera.
Worth knowing
Announce the redraw rule before you draw, not after. "If the winner does not reply within five minutes we draw again" is a fair rule stated in advance and an obvious excuse stated afterwards. This is the thing that turns a giveaway into an argument, and it costs one sentence to avoid.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the draw genuinely random?
It uses the browser’s random number generator, which is more than sufficient for a giveaway. Doing it live on stream is what makes it credible to viewers — the mechanism matters less than the visibility.
What if the same name appears twice?
It gets two chances. Sometimes that is deliberate — extra entries for subscribers, say — but if it is accidental, remove duplicates first or someone will notice and object.
Is my entrant list uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, which is the right default for a list of real usernames and sometimes email addresses.
Should I record the draw?
If the prize has real value, yes. A recording settles any later dispute instantly, and knowing it exists tends to prevent the dispute happening at all.
Is Giveaway Picker free?
Yes. The Vootkit free plan includes 5 tool runs a day. Upgrade to Vootkit Pro for unlimited daily use, an ad-free workspace and saved workflows.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Giveaway Picker runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and never sent to a server. There is nothing for us to store or delete.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Giveaway Picker works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. Open the page and start.
How often can I use it? Is there a daily limit?
On the free plan you get 5 tool runs a day. When you reach the limit you'll see a prompt to upgrade, and it resets the next day. Vootkit Pro removes the cap entirely for unlimited daily use.
